Lost and Confused

So I had a weekend class. No big deal, right? Wrong!

This past weekend the pulmonary section of my cardiopulmonary class was held from 8 am to 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Thankfully, the professor was good. Unfortunately I had to go straight to work right afterward. So that basically meant that I had 13 hour days, on the friggen weekend, lest you forget. I was drinking coffee and snacking like crazy just to get through the days and then I would get home from work and stuff my face with dinner at around 9:30.

The whole experience was completely disorienting. I knew it was the weekend, but it still felt like weekdays. And my brain was being loaded with all kinds of information for hours on end. So come Monday, it feels like a Wednesday or Thursday or something. I don't know. And my body is completely out of wack with the all day snacking.

Hopefully I'll get back to normal in a couple days. Note to self: Avoid full day weekend classes at all costs.

A Happy List

Life ain't too shabby these days.

1. The Seattle Seahawks are going to SUPERBOWL XL!!! I love it, the year I actually decide to follow them they go all the way to the top. I love these guys. They have been solid this entire season and have been incredibly overlooked. Everytime I watched Sports Center or checked out Sports Illustrated.com all the stories have been about the Colts, the Patriots, the Eagles, the Bears, the Broncos, etc. It just seemed that barely anyone was taking notice of what an incredible season the Seahawks were having. Finally, Shaun Alexander was named NFL MVP. That was good. But what really put the icing on my cake was their ticket to the Superbowl. Their first ever. Need to find a good place to watch it. Alas, the tv in my apartment is only a mere 13 inches. Otherwise I'd throw my own Superbowl party.

2. Sunday had a good hair day.

3. Reconciled with one of my best friends after a three month hiatus.

4. Baked peanut butter cookies from scratch. Yum...

Gotta love the DD

Of which DD, praytell, am I speaking? Myself? Didi? No, but loving me is not a bad thing. Just ask my ex. Mwah ha ha ha ha!! Back to the topic at hand. Designated Drivers? Not talking about those DD's either, but again, we should all love and be thankful for them.

The DD that I've gotta love is Dunkin Donuts. Particularly their coffee. It's so much tastier than Starbucks. And the wake-up factor is unbelieveable. When I drink non-DD coffee I'll get a buzz for about 2-3 hours. With DD coffee, Yikes! I'm good for another 6-8 hours.

Perhaps it was being on the West Coast, particularly in Washington state, during the days that I started drinking coffee did I come to believe the best coffee I could ever hope for was Starbucks. Then I moved here and there were DD's everywhere! I thought, how could coffee from a donut joint surpass the gourmet of Starbucks? Oh but it did.

So I raise my cup of Toasted Almond with cream and sugar and offer a Cheers to Dunkin "My Savior During Exams" Donuts. Oh, and I'll take a Boston Cream Pie donut to go.
